Ignite Startup Stories: Graphmatech

As part of Science Week & Sveriges Innovationsriksdag 2025, Ignite Sweden hosted a series of interviews exploring how startups turn innovation into commercial collaboration with Swedish and international corporations. The conversations are hosted by Maria Olofsson, VP Ecosystems at Ignite Sweden.

In the first interview of the series, Olivia Nestius explains how Graphmatech develops and produces graphene-based nanocomposites that help industrial companies become more innovative, resource-efficient, and sustainable. The company works with customers producing components, products, and systems based on high-performance plastics and metals, supporting them in advancing their material choices.

Founded in Uppsala in 2017, Graphmatech is now entering a scaling phase. The company is currently working with both large global industrial corporations and mid-sized Swedish companies, and expanding its production capacity as commercial traction grows and larger customer projects take shape. Through Ignite Sweden, the company met some of its very first customers.
